National English Honor Society was founded by Sigma Tau Delta, a university level English honors society, to honor high school students who have excelled in the study of English. The Timshel Chapter, Blessed Trinity’s chapter of National English Honor Society, was founded in 2009. Members plan and carry out the chapter’s chosen service project. Past projects have included collecting and donating books to Books for Africa, a non-profit organization that sends books to school children in various countries.
Members of the Timshel Chapter must:
- Maintain a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Maintain a minimum of a 3.5 in all English courses taken at BT.
- Be seniors and have completed three years of honors and AP level English or be enrolled in the third year of honors and AP level English.
- Maintain good character.
- Participate in a student selected service project.
