Day 10 - Thursday, January 16, 2020

Thursday, January 16, 2020

Objectives:

  • Update notebook
  • Do a lot of the chairman’s application
  • Finish assembling shooter prototype

Description:

During class, Dario and David worked on finishing the shooter prototype so we can test. Mary worked on safety materials, and Ben continued to work on bumpers. At practice, David worked on cutting different launch angles for the shooter and assembling them on the shooter. Dario and Mrs. Shaffer worked on a new equation for the shooter after realizing the previous equation required the launch angle to change at every distance with different speeds. The new equation has a constant angle resulting in a specific speed. They also worked out a distance equation, which is the length required to make the goal with a specific angle. After the new equation was done, Dario, Mrs. Shaffer, and David prototyped the shooter with different launch angles and distances to find a sweet spot.
