Tryouts

There are cross country tryouts. There will be a mandatory 2 mile cross country time trial tryout on Monday, July 29. The time trial will be four half-mile loops on our cross country trail. If you cannot attend the time trial tryout, you must email Coach Greg Johnson as soon as possible to schedule a time to tryout for the team.

There will be no tryouts after July 29, the team will be finalized on that date.

For each summer practice that a runner attends, they will be allowed a 5 second cushion on their 2 mile time trial tryout and a 2 second cushion on their lettering time. This means that if a runner attends 12 summer practices, they will have one minute of cushion on their 2 mile cross country tryout standard and a 24 second cushion on their lettering time. 

Throughout the summer, we will do runs on our 2 mile cross country time trial course to prepare runners for the tryout.
