Middle School Model UN Conference at BT

Middle School Model UN Conference at BT

Blessed Trinity hosted its inaugural Middle School Model United Nations Conference on November 15, welcoming 49 students from four area schools. The event was planned and led by members of BT’s high school Model UN team, who chaired two committees: General Assembly 3, addressing the Rights of the Child in the Digital Age, and the United Nations Environment Programme, focusing on Conserving and Restoring Natural Environments.

Middle school delegates represented countries from around the globe and engaged in meaningful debate on topics such as cyberbullying, online safety, ethical AI use, CO₂ emissions, carbon neutrality, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Students collaborated to draft and vote on resolutions, demonstrating both their growing global awareness and enthusiasm for diplomacy.

Special thanks to Mrs. Ilaria Johnson, Wren Casteel, Keegan Sharp, Caz Irving, and others for guiding delegates, teaching Model UN fundamentals, and ensuring the conference ran smoothly. The event marked an important milestone for Blessed Trinity, showcasing leadership, collaboration, and a deep commitment to global citizenship that will inspire students for years to come.
