Blessed Trinity Community Comes Together to Remember September 11

Blessed Trinity Catholic High School students, faculty and staff came together for a day of remembrance honoring the lives lost, the first responders and all those impacted by the events of September 11, 2001.

As part of the commemoration, members of our community placed American flags across the front lawn of campus, creating a visible and moving tribute throughout the day. We are grateful to everyone who participated in placing the flags and helping create this meaningful display of remembrance.

The day began at Titan Stadium with our inaugural morning Stadium Run. Students, faculty and staff ran or walked 110 flights in tribute to the courage and sacrifice demonstrated on September 11. We are grateful to Head Athletic Trainer Chris Leeds for coordinating the Stadium Run and bringing our community together for this meaningful start to the day.

Later that morning, the school community gathered for a special assembly featuring Kevin Carpenter, a retired United States Air Force veteran who was serving inside the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the building on September 11, 2001.

Mr. Carpenter offered students a powerful firsthand perspective on the events of that day while reflecting on his life of service to our country. His visit marked a meaningful return to Blessed Trinity, where he first shared his story with our community in 2021.

Through these experiences, our students were reminded of the importance of honoring the lives lost, remembering the courage shown and ensuring the lessons of September 11 are carried forward by future generations.

We are especially grateful to student director Courtney Leszynski, along with students Clara Hudkins, Nicole Ledford and Alex Lamon, for helping coordinate our September 11 events. We also thank Mr. Carpenter for once again sharing his story and everyone who participated in making this meaningful day of remembrance possible.
