Titans Boys Basketball Announced
Six games versus teams who earned state playoff appearances last year, two of which made it to the Elite 8, a December showcase game at the Cobb Civic Center, first time school meetings against AAAAA powerhouse schools; Etowah, Marietta, and Milton, 2007 rematches against St. Pius, Marist and Pace, and 16 region games, featuring 2 games vs. #1 state ranked Dunwoody High School, round out Blessed Trinity’s boys 2007-2008 basketball schedule.
Looking at what could be the biggest test for the Titans, who last year completed their most successful season in school history, will the first two weeks of their season. Blessed Trinity plays six games in the seasons first 14 days, three of which are against region foes. The Titans will open the season traveling to Marietta, who made it to the 2006 – 2007 AAAAA Elite 8, on November 20, open up at home against Holy Innocents on November 23, and open up their region versus #1 state ranked Dunwoody at Dunwoody’s Wildcat Den on November 27.
"We have a very challenging schedule, not only with the difficult non-region games we have ahead of us, but the games in our region 5AAA, which should be as strong as ever," said head coach Brian Marks. The first two weeks of the season are going to show us what this team is really made of, and what we need work on over the course of the season, to reach our goal, which is to make the state playoffs. "
Last year the Blessed Trinity Varsity Boys Basketball team completed its most successful season in school history by posting an impressive 21-6 record. The team was ranked in the top 10 in the state for the first time ever. They finished the regular season ranked #6 in the state.
