Tiny Home Project

The mission of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School speaks to four pillars of Catholic education that we should strive for each student to attain. Of those four pillars, academic excellence and spiritual formation are critical in developing student success. In the area of academic excellence there has been a tremendous push towards STEM and STEAM learning within traditional (public and private) schools. This integrative approach to educating students in the areas of Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Math has created great opportunities for students, especially in the area of project based learning. However, as a Catholic School, we see an even greater opportunity to expand the reach of these subjects while simultaneously integrating the pillar of spiritual formation into a STREAM project that involves not only the classroom, but the entire community.

In an effort to create a campus wide STREAM project that integrates Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math, we are going to have our students build a tiny home. They will use existing blueprints, supporting documentation, and student design elements. The tiny home will then be donated to an identified family in need.

For this project to be successful, we need the help of the students, parents, and the greater Blessed Trinity Community. We are asking for donations of building materials to complete the house as well as volunteer support to help teach and supervise students as they construct the tiny home. We would love your support whether it is in donation of resources or time. To learn more about the project and how you can get involved, go to www.btcatholic.org/tinyhome. Thank you for your support!
