Habitat for Humanity Needs Your Help!!
Habitat has reached its goal of raising $10,000 for the matching State Farm Grant! With your help, we have now raised $20,000 and will be able to make a difference in the world by helping to build a house for someone who doesn’t have one.
We still have a variety of fundraisers being planned. “Habitat Heroes” offers the BT community the chance to vote for a favorite teacher or administrator. The candidate who raises the most money for Habitat becomes the “Habitat Hero” for a day. The teachers competing this year are Mr. Johnson, Mr. Findlay, Mr. Martin, and Mr. Sabin. The teacher who wins will come to school fully equipped with a Habitat shirt, a cape, a mask, a tool belt, and a hard hat.
A “Miracle Minute” conducted during families on April 24 raised over $1500 and made our fundraising goal for the year a reality. Thanks to Blessed Trinity students, faculty and staff for your generosity and support.
On April 13, BT’s St. Vincent de Paul Society partnered with our Habitat chapter to help build a home in Gainesville and feed all the volunteers. Thanks to Ms. Vilardi and SVdP for coordinating all the food for over 40 hungry workers.
Over the summer, Habitat will continue to pursue its vision of making affordable housing available to all, sending the largest group ever on a week-long Collegiate Challenge experience. Twenty students and faculty from the BT community will travel to Winston-Salem, NC, for the week of June 9 to help build a Habitat home for a deserving family.
As the year winds to a close, Habitat would like to thank all of the students, parents, and faculty who helped make this a milestone year for our chapter. We look forward to doing great things together again next year.
