Vaughn Commits to Wake Forest

Blessed Trinity senior Caroline Vaughn has committed to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on a track scholarship. Caroline was recruited to run the 400H.

According to Michele Coco, BT head girls track coach, Caroline has had a tremendous career and is one of the most accomplished athletes she has coached. “She has been an integral part of establishing the Blessed Trinity Catholic High School track and field team as one of the elite teams to beat in AAA.”

“Caroline has been to State the past three years,” said Coco. “During her freshman year she was 4th in the 100H and 2nd in the 300H. She was the 100m and 300m hurdle state champion her sophomore year in AA. She set new state records in both those events that year. As a junior she was the state champion in the 100H, running one of the fastest times in the state that year.”

Caroline will be trying out for the Junior Olympics in June and will also be running in the Nike Outdoor Nationals June 16 and 17, in North Carolina. “The Nike outdoor national meet is by invitation only as well,” noted Coco. “You have to run a qualifying time. She is the real deal and has a definite God-given talent.”
