April Service Opportunities


April Works of Mercy Service Programs:


Hosea Feed the Hungry, April 3 and 4

If you can help prepare and/or serve Easter dinner for the hungry, please visit www.hoseafeedthehungry.com for details.  Volunteers must register online.

Jubilee Music Class

On Mondays and Fridays, 3:30-5:15, at Queen of Angels School, students are needed to help with games, music and other activities.  Contact Jeanne Lyons lyonstunes@aol.com

Habitat for Humanity, Saturday, April 24

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, April 24, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., for the Building Day at Centennial Village in Alpharetta (Highway 9 near Windward Parkway).  See Theology teachers, Mrs. Hoffman or Mr. Morzen for details.  Students must be 16 years old to participate.

MUST Ministries (www.mustministries.org)

Work consists of many different types of tasks; helping receive donations at the Donation Center, making meals in the Kitchen, distributing food or clothing in the Pantry or MUSTwear, working in the Homeless shelter, and cleaning the grounds, offices or buildings.


Soup Kitchens

Every Saturday morning, volunteers at St. Francis Table help set up and serve food to the homeless in the basement of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  Call Ahead to advise the Saturday you will serve:  404-521-1866. Volunteers serve:  7 am – Noon


Trinity Table

This soup kitchen is the oldest, Sunday-only kitchen in metro Atlanta.  Located at Trinity United Methodist Church, in downtown Atlanta, this program offers an outlet to volunteers to express their compassion through service to the poor.  Trinity table starts serving at 12:30 p.m. and serves homeless guests in four half-hour stages throughout the afternoon.

Foster Care Support Foundation

Volunteers are needed most Saturdays, from 10am – 1pm, to perform Works of Mercy.  Contact Jean Rearick j2rearick@gmail.com or 404-786-4490.

Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed to receive and sort food donations, stock shelves and distribute food to clients. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Reception Desk: Volunteers are needed for registering clients, answering telephones, data entry, filing and assisting with special mailings. Food Pantry shifts and hours of operation apply.
