MacDonald Selected for All-American Match

Blessed Trinity senior libero and University of Wisconsin signee, Anna MacDonald, has been named a USA Volleyball First Team Under Armour All-American.   

MacDonald is the most successful and most highly decorated 2019 libero in the nation.  During her high school career she has been named to seven Prep Volleyball All-American teams and 4 Max Prep All-American teams.  MacDonald is also No. 1 in the nation among 2019 liberos in career digs (3,297), career aces (366) and career wins (199) (Source: MaxPreps).

She helped lead the Blessed Trinity Titans to three State Finals, two State Championships, was named First Team All-State Team four times, was named AAAA State Player of the Year in 2018, and broke the Georgia state record for career digs when she became the first player in the history of Georgia volleyball to exceed 3,000 career digs.

Blessed Trinity Head Coach Paul Stevens said, “Her stellar defense helps infuse the team with confidence,it’s a combination of volleyball smarts and pure athleticism. She’s the most competitive player I’ve ever coached, simply the best defender the state of Georgia has ever seen.”             

In addition to her high school accomplishments, MacDonald is also one of the most successful and most highly decorated 2019 club liberos in the nation. With MacDonald at libero her club teams won 5 Open National Qualifiers and placed 3rd in the Nation twice.  She was named to the 2018 JVA and Prep Volleyball All-American club teams.

MacDonald also has extensive international experience.  She was selected to the 2018 USA Volleyball Junior National A-1 Team where she was Captain and libero of the team that won a silver medal in the High Performance National Championships defeating teams from Canada, Australia and the Dominican Republic.  MacDonald has also competed in Brazil, Italy, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

MacDonald says:  “I have been very fortunate to play on great teams with great teammates and great coaches.  High school and club volleyball have been such a big part of my life. I still have a lot to learn and I’m so excited to be a Wisconsin Badger next year.”   

MacDonald will be playing in the Under Armour High School All American match on December 14th in Minneapolis.
