Class of 2009 Senior Breakfast

The Class of 2009 came to BT's annual Senior Breakfast hungry, prepared to hear the wisdom of a special speaker and excited to leave school early.

The Senior Breakfast, held on April 21, would be one of the last times the entire senior class would be "breaking their fast" together before graduation, and all were excited to have the day off after the much-awaited for class photo (The Class of 2009 photo is now displayed in the main hallway).

Prior to the seniors eating, BT Chaplain Father Ricardo Bailey blessed the seniors as well as the food. BT Theology teacher, Mr. Chuck Price, whom the class nominate as their guest speaker, addressed the attentive crowd, and while he had them laughing he also had them thinking. Mr. Price spoke about the importance of freedom in college and how that freedom comes with the responsibility of holding on to the truth in order to make the best decisions during and after college.

BT Alumni Director, Kate McWilliams '03, also addressed the class about the significance of staying connected to the school and the importance of giving back. The class, when asked for a pledge for the 2009-2010 Annual Fund, gave an impressive $1700.

The faculty coordinator for the breakfast, Ms. Katie Seggerson, along with a group of freshman volunteers, set up the decorations, passed out materials, and cleaned up afterward.  A special thank you to Student Activiites Director Karen Hurley for coordinating the event and to Communications Director Mary Beth Dever for taking the pictures.
