2009 BT Basketball Alumni Night
The 2009 BT Basketball Alumni Night was a memorable evening for the Titan’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams and a great way for all current and past Titans to celebrate the New Year!
Both teams claimed victory against Johnson High School on Saturday, January 3rd. The Lady Titans dominated their game with a 67-31 victory. Senior Riley Cerone, a four-year varsity powerhouse, took center court with her impressive 1,000th career point. Her parents, Mike and Jen, along with her brothers, Ethan and Tyler‘08, who is now playing basketball at Birmingham Southern, were all cheering proudly when Riley made her milestone points.
The boys’ team won 81-74 after an entertaining and enthusiastic win over Johnston. Over 75 BT Alumni were in attendance that evening supporting their friends and alma mater. The games’ announcer, BT Chaplain Father Bailey, welcomed and thanked the alumni for showing their Titan spirit. Past basketball players Matt Batteh ‘07, Vinny Cuviello ‘08, Ben Kopacka ’08 and Eric Maust ’06 were especially singled out by Fr. Bailey as they cheered on the Titan teams.
The BT Dance Team got the crowd pumped and moving during their half-time performances. Special thanks to Lauren Lonergan ’08 who choreographed the dance team’s performance at the girls’ game and Monica Hogan ‘08 who helped with the performance during the boys’ game.
It truly was a night filled with memories and appreciation for our BT Alum. Thanks to all the alumni for coming back and we wish them the best until we see them again!
