Three students attend governor’s honors
Three Blessed Trinity students have been named Governor’s Honors Program recipients.
Seniors Ryann Kopacka and Amanda Rowell, and junior Tyler Hale will attend the six-week summer instructional program on the campus of Valdosta State University.
The GHP is a program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities.
“GHP brings together the finest rising juniors and seniors in academics and the arts from around the state,” said Principal Frank Moore. “The selection process is very competitive and consists of an examination of grades, standardized test scores, and in some areas, a debate or audition. School systems and private schools nominate students based on 1% of their soph/jr population.”
Named as alternates in this summer’s program are Brennan Harkins in Social Studies and Katie Kelly in Dance.
