Description: The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those junior and senior students who have demonstrated excellence at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School throughout the year in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning. Transfer Junior students must complete a full year at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School before eligibility, unless they have already been inaugurated into NHS at their previous school. Candidates become members at the required annual induction ceremony that is held each November. The members provide a valuable tutoring service for the school and do other service projects beyond the school requirements.
- Scholarship Rising junior/senior students who have a 93 GPA (NOT rounded) with all grades being 80 or above and who are current on their service hours will receive an invitation/application for membership.
- Service Student applicants must have completed Campus Ministry requirements. NHS members are expected to go above and beyond the required service hours required by Campus Ministry. Students should continually strive to voluntarily contribute to the school or community without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.
- Leadership Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, promoters of school activities, idea-contributors, dependable, and exemplify positive attitudes about life. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community while working with or for others.
- Character The student of good character upholds principles of morality and ethics, is cooperative, demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability, shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others, and generally maintains a good and clean lifestyle.
Meeting Times and Locations: TBA. General meetings take place August through April.
Club Dues: $5.00 yearly fee, $20.00 upon initiation, $25.00 for the graduation stole.
