Lady Titans Bring Home the State Championship

Blessed Trinity Wins the 2010 State Championship!

After a four year absence from the state finals, the Titans stormed back to the title game in 2010.  The Titans did not drop a single game in the state tournament, winning shutout victories over Providence Christian, Savannah Christian, Our Lady of Mercy, and Lovett en route to the championship match against Athens Academy.

Game one was close from start to finish, but the Titans used a late push to take the first game 25-22.  With the Titans down 8-7 in the second game, two service runs vaulted the team to a 15-9 lead, and they never looked back, capturing the second game 25-15.  In game three, the Titans sprinted to leads of 12-4, 17-7, and 22-10, ultimately winning the game 25-16 and the match 3 games to none.

"This team was so special," said Blessed Trinity coach Paul Stevens after the match.  "They have so much talent, but more importantly, they play with such joy and passion.  The coaching staff knew that we had something special all the way back in August, and the players didn't disappoint.  I'm so happy for this team, and for this group of seniors, that they know what it feels like to be called champions."
