Habitat for Humanity
Blessed Trinity's chapter of Habitat for Humanity is a student-led organization dedicated to eradicating poverty housing and homelessness from our community and around the world. We seek to accomplish this goal one dollar at a time, and one house at a time. Each year, we raise thousands of dollars to fund building projects in the North Georgia area and donate volunteer labor to building projects in our local community.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
Habitat's first building day of 2012 is Saturday, January 28, and 25 student volunteers are needed. Students must be 16 years of age or older to participate. The day lasts from 7:30 AM to 3 PM. Please see Mr. Morzen or Mrs. Hoffman in the theology department for more information and to sign up.
The summer "Collegiate Challenge" building trip is scheduled for the week of June 10, 2012. Ten students will travel to Maryville, Tennessee for a week-long build. Come to January's chapter meeting for more details. Sign-up will be first-come, first-served, and must be finalized by January 31.
FUNDRAISING:
Second semester has begun, and Habitat continues toward an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 by May, 2012. Donations from students, parents and friends can help us meet our goal. Checks should be made payable to Blessed Trinity (with Habitat for Humanity noted on the memo line) and sent to the attention of Mrs. Kathy Hoffman.
For more information about any of the above, please contact Kathy Hoffman (khoffman@btcatholic.org) or Ed Morzen (emorzen@btcatholic.org).
