Head Girls Golf Coach
This is Coach Chavis’s sixth year as the Varsity Girls’ Golf Coach. During the 06-07 and 07-08 seasons, the Lady Titans were the 5-AAA REGION CHAMPIONS. The low medalist, both years, came from the Lady Titans. This gave Coach Chavis two Coach of the Year awards, which she was honored to received. After region play during those seasons, the team then went on to participate in the state tournaments where they finished 4th overall (06-07) and also went to a 3-hole sudden death playoff to become STATE RUNNERS-UP (07-08) in AAA.
During the 08-09 season, the Lady Titans were in a new region and a new classification. They ended their season as REGION 6-AA RUNNERS-UP and the AA STATE CHAMPIONS!! This gave Coach
Coach Chavis is a native of Louisville, KY, where she lettered in many of the athletic programs at her high school. She is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN where she obtained a B.S. in Chemistry. She also went on to earn a Masters Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Coach Chavis is not only the girl’s golf coach, but also serves as the girl’s head basketball coach and science department chair.
Tamara shares a desire to enrich and empower all of whom she comes in contact. “My family has been very influential in my life and I have developed a strong sense of principles. I know the essence of a good role model is not only preferred, but in most cases is needed. I strive to make my life a multidimensional reality. I do not only wish to do things that give pleasure to me, but I love to help others and give back what was given.”
