Summer Works of Mercy Opportunities

fiogf49gjkf0d
Many students choose to do service hours over the summer.  Here are some Works of Mercy opportunities:

Eucharistic Congress, Saturday, June 5
Please contact Mrs. Birth if you can represent BT in the opening ceremony on Saturday morning at the Georgia International Convention Center, near the airport.  All of the archdiocesan Catholic schools will be represented.  Volunteers are also needed to help with the Kids Track (working with children on crafts, music and other activities).  Approximately 30,000 have attended this faith-filled day!

Sonfest 2010: “Praise in Paradise”, June 7 -11
This five day beach retreat, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Atlanta, includes prayer, reflection, praise and worship music, small group time and beach activities. Contact your parish to join their group.

Malta Summer Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes, July 22-30
The Malta Summer Youth Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, has invited BT to send students to their annual pilgrimage this summer.  Our students will work with the sick, taking them to the grotto baths, meeting them at the train station and escorting them to the various sites and activities.  It is an awesome opportunity for our students to walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette.  Students will form friendships with teens from all over the world. The trip costs $3,035 and includes everything (airfare, hotel and all meals).  Please contact Ms. McCarthy with any questions.

Vacation Bible School
Parishes will host Vacation Bible Schools this summer so please contact your parish for details.  Most need teens to help with the youngsters attending the sessions.  Volunteer spots fill up quickly so connect with your parish as soon as possible.

Summer Mission Trips for Teens
Many parishes offer summer mission trips to teens.  Contact your parish or see Ms. McCarthy for information.
