Each athletic training high school student participant has unique abilities and talents already that aid in their success with the sports medicine program. The high school students are challenged with new experiences and exposed to vast amounts of information that are forming new skills during the time spent within the program. High school students entering the program are required to attend a summer sports medicine curriculum every year. The program has grown with the school, averaging close to 40 students being involved a year. At least four have graduated from the program over the years and have been awarded several scholarships. graduates are currently working toward degrees in athletic training at accredited programs. Several others are pursuing degrees in health care profession such as pre-med, PA, physical therapy and nursing.
Each athletic training high school student is an individual with unique gifts and talents and collectively they are a team. As a team, the athletic training high school students work together in harmony. They strive to execute their jobs in a timely, positive and professional manner.
Goals

► To be helpful, prepared and knowledgeable for any emergencies that arise
► To be alert and vigilant during all games
► To maintain a positive and helpful attitude at all times
► To be flexible and able to process changes as they occur
► To act as a host to other teams – at home or away
