Financial Aid
Financial Aid 2012-2013 **Please note the following change - All applications are required to submit their 2011 tax return, no previous years return will be accepted. If your tax returns are not yet complete please go ahead and fill out the application by the deadline. Then submit your tax returns as soon as they are completed.*** Financial Aid is a need-based program. Several factors influence the amount of aid granted, the most important being the number of families applying for financial aid in a given year against the overall grant amount available. The maximum aid awarded is 80% of tuition. Approximately 18% of our students receive financial aid with an average award of $5700. All students awarded financial aid must complete work study during school hours. All students who receive financial aid are required to work 90 minutes (one block) during school time on alternate days. Work-Study done during school time takes the place of an elective course. Our graduation requirements are structured so that students on Work-Study are able to get all credits needed for graduation. Only those students who have a scheduling conflict will have the option of satisfying their work-study requirements outside the normal circumstances as described above. These slots are available by prior approval only. Depending on the financial aid awarded, your student is required to work one or two semesters. Incoming freshmen are NOT required to complete work-study their freshmen year. Financial aid for the 2012-2013 school year will be processed by FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment service. Any family wanting to apply for financial aid will need to fill out an on-line application. You will have to fill out an application every year. Please note this is a different service than most of the elementary schools use. If you have students at both schools you will need to fill out the application for their school in addition to ours. The on-line application will be available starting on December 1, 2011. Here is some important information you will need to complete your application: **Please note that no application will be considered complete and no aid will be awarded until your tax return has been verified by FACTS. The deadline for submitting your application is Thursday, March 1, 2012. You must apply for financial aid at the same time as applying for admissions to ensure your aid package is ready at the time acceptance letters are mailed. All award letters will be mailed with acceptance letters April 1, 2011. If you have any additional questions please contact Monica Chambers, Business Manager, at 678.277.9083, x526.
